If you're reporting a bug, including the iOS version, the device, the lemma you were studying, and the variant (Modern or Ancient) makes a fix much faster.
Common questions
- How do I switch between Modern and Ancient Greek?
- Tap the variant menu in the title bar at the top of the deck picker (or the lexicon). The whole app rebuilds for the chosen variant, including frequency rankings and inflection paradigms.
- Where is my study progress stored?
- Locally on your device, and mirrored to your iCloud account's private database. No third party can read it. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
- I deleted Klisy and lost my progress.
- If you were signed into iCloud and the same account is still active, reinstalling Klisy and waiting a minute will pull your data back through CloudKit. If you weren't signed into iCloud at the time, the data was local only and is gone, sorry.
- Why is one of my answers being marked wrong even though I typed it correctly?
- Check the diacritic strictness setting in Settings. For Ancient Greek the default is acute‑only, which accepts a monotonic acute spelling for any polytonic form. Strict mode requires breathings, circumflex, and iota subscript exactly. For Modern Greek the default ignores diacritics altogether.
- Can I add my own decks?
- Not yet. Klisy ships with a curated set of decks built from the canonical lemma database. Custom decks are on the roadmap.
- I found a bad gloss / a missing form / a wrong etymology.
- Email us. The data pipeline is iterated frequently and corrections roll into the next release.
