Klisy is a single-purpose study app. We've built it to collect as little information as possible, and we don't have analytics, advertising, or any third-party services watching what you do.

What we collect

Nothing on our servers. Klisy has no backend that we operate. We don't have an account system. We don't ask for your email. We don't see what you study.

What stays on your device

Your study progress, your favorites, the lemmas you've recently viewed, and your study preferences (tap rating, typing strictness, etc.) are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad.

What syncs through iCloud

If you're signed into iCloud on your Apple device, Klisy mirrors your study state to your iCloud private database via Apple's CloudKit framework. This is so your progress can move between your iPhone and your iPad. Specifically, the rows that sync are:

  • Your spaced-repetition state for each card (when it's next due, how confident you've been on it, etc.)
  • Your study attempts (one row per rated review, used for daily count rollups)
  • Any custom presets and per-deck preset overrides you've configured

This data lives in your private iCloud database. We can't read it, Apple's iCloud terms govern its handling, and you can wipe it any time by signing out of iCloud or removing the app.

What we don't collect

  • No analytics. No crash reporters phoning home. No telemetry.
  • No advertising IDs, no fingerprinting, no third-party SDKs.
  • No location, no contacts, no microphone, no camera.
  • No tracking across apps or websites.

Children

Klisy doesn't collect anything from anyone, so it's safe for use by children. There's no chat, no community feature, no profile, no in-app messaging.

Changes

If we ever add anything that changes the picture above, we'll update this page and bump the date at the top. The plain rule: nothing leaves your device that wasn't already part of your iCloud account.
